Zac Efron picked up the "Best Shirtless Performance" award and while he was delivering his speech, Rita Ora ran on stage and, well, undressed him.
"I can see y'all checkin' me out" |
Now, for some reason, not everyone enjoyed the moment, and took to Twitter to express their disgust:
"I, um, feel violated on behalf of Zac Efron for that one. #Sexism"
"Soooo... Zac Efron essentially won an award for being objectified shamelessly by a horde of countless fangirls...? REALLY?!"
"I drool over Zac Efron as much as the next girl but do we have to make him strip on camera every time? Girls arent the only ones objectified"
"Zac Efron looks so objectified. #MTVMovieAwards"
And there are many more. Not that I don't agree with the point some of these people are making, but if we are being honest after decades of women being sexually objectified it was about time some men started being objectified too. As long as they completely aware of what is going on, I don't see the harm. David Beckham has used his body and face to sell just about every imaginable product, and Zac is often seen shirtless in movies and paparazzi shots. These people know what they're doing.
