Leona Lewis Wears Platform Shoes

I love a good 90s revival, and being the huge Spice Girls fan that I am, to see women everywhere wearing Buffalo shoes or platform boots makes me strangely happy.

Lady Gaga has been wearing her favourite white Buffalos lately, which are very reminiscent of the ones Baby Spice Emma Bunton used to live in.

Baby Spice and Lady Gaga, shoe sisters
Miley Cyrus, Willow Smith and Robin Thicke's girls have contributed to the comeback of the platform shoes:

Platform mania!
Leona Lewis couldn't resist, and she posted a snap of herself on Instagram with a very Spicy caption:

"Spice Up Your Life ♥"
Fashion is funny. These shoes were all the rage in the 70s and 90s, you'd be hard pressed to find a girl who didn't own a pair. Many boys jumped on the bandwagon as well, especially in the 90s.

Then, suddenly, they disappeared and became an embarrassment, a fashion faux-pas, until they inevitably came back in recent times. Fashion goes in circles, and that's a fact, so you might as well stop dissing old style choices because you will end up going back to them.

If you're interested in purchasing these shoes, I have found some fantastic pairs for you!

You Know The 90s Are Back When...

All Saints back on stage
Having lived a lot of my teenagehood in the 90s (now why would I give away my age?) I can't help but find it exciting when trends, bands and movies from that memorable decade make a comeback.

Two years ago, when "Titanic" came out in 3D, I went to watch it as if it was 1997 all over again and cried my eyes out. I even waited for the credits to be over so that I could listen to Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" before the lights went up and I was catapulted back to 2012.

When the Spice Girls are rumoured to be making a comeback the teenage boy in me starts fantasising about a tour and possible new music.

When Lady Gaga wears her Baby Spice shoes I think "HA! The 90s and their impact!".

And now, UK girlgroup All Saints are on tour with the Backstreet Boys. How about THAT?!

All Saints attacked the UK charts in late 1997, although they formed in 1993, but didn't hit the big time until they recorded a demo of "I Know Where It's At", which made its way to London Records. A deal was signed, and the girls recorded their debut album, "All Saints" .

The real success arrived in the shape of a million-selling #1 single called "Never Ever", two BRIT Awards and more #1 hits: the double A-side release "Under The Bridge/Lady Marmalade" and "Bootie Call".

In 2000 they released "Pure Shores", another massive hit for them and the soundtrack to Leonardo Di Caprio's "Beach".

Despite the constant comparisons to the Spice Girls, All Saints were a very different group.

They broke up after their second album, "Saints & Sinners" , and released a Greatest Hits compilation ("All Hits") by the end of 2001.

A reunion was inevitable, and in 2006 they released "Studio 1" , which contains their comeback hit single "Rock Steady". The comeback was short-lived; the second single "Chick Fit" was only released digitally and the girls called it quits again.

But now they're back! Rumour has it the tour with the Backstreet Boys is just the beginning of a new adventure for All Saints, but for now, their fans are just happy to have them back.

The setlist:
  1. Chick Fit
  2. I Know Where It's At
  3. Bootie Call
  4. Under the Bridge
  5. Rock Steady
  6. War Of Nerves
  7. Black Coffee
  8. Never Ever
  9. Pure Shores
I am very happy to have them back and I hope they are up to something. They were recently spotted filming in All Saints Street and some Twitter "insiders" suggest they are planning a tour with other 90s girlbands.

For now, you can get your tickets to see them on tour with the Backstreet Boys!
