Happy Birthday David Beckham! A Look At His Iconic Style Moments

The gift that keeps on giving: David Beckham

My husband in a parallel Universe turns 39 today, so you all better put your hands together, look up to the sky and say, "Happy Birthday David Beckham!".

I know he was a footballer but there's a lot more to him than there is to most other athletes. I once wrote an entry stating all the reasons why I like him as much as I do. Read it here.

I also told you how to copy his fabulous look (here). I must have mentioned his name on my blog almost every single day. Why? Because the man is still incredibly relevant and refuses to step out of the limelight. And why would he? His name, face and body could sell anything!

But for his birthday, I would like to show you some of his most memorable style moments. David has always had a passion for fashion, he has never denied it and despite getting it wrong many times, he's always been none other than himself, even when the press laughed at him for some of his style choices.

Remember when he wore a sarong in 1998? The tabloids thought he looked hideous and made tons of close-to-homophobic jokes.

A sarong is front page news, apparently. The Sun, June 4, 1998

They called it a 'skirt', despite knowing it wasn't one, purely to try and make him look silly. To be honest, David Beckham could go out in an effing skirt and look good anyway! I still wonder why this kind of thing can be considered front page news in the UK, by the way.

David didn't seem to care about the negative press, as he kept on experimenting with his style. He was seen wearing nail polish on a number of occasions and undoubtedly started the "metrosexual" trend that used to be so talked-about a decade ago.

Posing for VOGUE Sport, GQ and attending a Christening in London

He also showed his love for leather, which continues to this day, although it's much more subtle now.

Leather power!

Now why did Victoria and David think it was ok to attend a Versace party in matching leather outfits (although they did look good)? We will never know, although they both have admitted this is the look they regret the most. I guess Victoria hasn't seen the boots she is wearing in that second shot.

When David teamed up with photographer David LaChapelle for GQ magazine in 2002, we knew we were in for a treat. The results were exactly what the tabloids wanted: an oiled-up David Beckham licking himself and sporting leopard print underwear.

David Beckham X David LaChapelle

Let's not forget this purple ensemble David, Victoria (and Brooklyn!!!) wore on their wedding day in July 1999.

Gorgeous in purple on his wedding day

What about his hair? It's literally impossible to keep up with all the different hairstyles David has tried. He's been sticking to the same one for a few years now, but take a look at everything he tried over the years!

Long, short, shaved, in a ponytail...

Almost every single one of his hairstyles created a trend. In 2002, his mohawk somehow became one of the most talked-about aspects of the World Cup, and men all over the World copied his look. The same happened two years later, when he started sporting the only look I have never been fond of: the double ponytail.

He has recently showed his impeccable taste in coats. We will just choose to ignore this one.

Airport chic

For these and many other reasons David Beckham has imposed himself as a true trendsetter and my personal style icon.

So, again, happy birthday David Beckham! And remember, age is just a state of mind!

The Spice Girls Know How To Party

"Girls night out", an excited Melanie C tweeted

Victoria Beckham recently turned 40 (story), and she celebrated in style in Los Angeles, but her London friends threw a surprise party for her when she got back home.

The guest-list included people like Chris Martin, Guy Ritchie and Gordon Ramsay and obviously husband David Beckham, but two people stole the show: Baby Spice Emma Bunton and Sporty Spice Melanie C.

David and Victoria Beckham leaving the Arts Club

The mini Spice Girls reunion (Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell also attended) must have got the Girls really excited and in the mood for partying, because pictures of the them leaving London's Arts Club are so much fun, and they have made the headlines all around the World.

Friendship never ends, and the girls know how to have fun

Both Emma and Melanie stumbled on their way to the car when they left the party at 2AM, but still managed to look gorgeous. Jade Jones, Emma Bunton's partner was the perfect gentleman as he made sure Melanie (who, according to Emma, was the worst of the night) got to the car, then went back and did exactly the same with his lady. Watch the video below:

Victoria Beckham seemed delighted to have her Spice pals with her, she later tweeted:

"So much fun with Emma and Mel C at my party last night x vb"

She forgot to mention Geri Halliwell, who apparently was the sensible one, didn't drink a drop and drove herself home once the party was over.

Geri Halliwell, "Sober Spice"

Scary Spice Mel B was missing, probably only because she was busy working on America's Got Talent.

Despite the party finishing at 2AM, Emma Bunton was on London's Heart Breakfast around four hours later and talked about the party. Well, what she rememberd of the party! Listen below:

Danny DeVito Likes David Beckham's Ass!

"He has a great ass" - Danny on Beckham's derriere

Danny DeVito is one of us, he can recognise a good butt when he sees one.

Speaking at the FX screening of new TV series "Fargo", the comedian was asked about Beckham because he is about to launch his own Scotch whisky, and since Danny has his own limoncello line, the reporters wanted to hear his thoughts on the matter:

"The guy's the underwear guy, right? Beckham? The guy with the great ass? Yeah, I know the guy".

A work of art
When a reporter mentioned the Diageo deal, which will see Beckham releasing Haig Club, a Scotch whisky that "showcases butterscotch and toffee", Danny asked:

"What did he do before he did that?"

According to US Weekly, "Soccer" was the answer, and Danny was visibly shocked:

"David Beckham is a soccer star? Are you kidding me? I thought he was just one of those, you know, beefcake guys! Are you serious?"

Asked if he had any advice for Beckham, he said:

"I don't have any advice for him. The only thing I would say is, 'David, keep your pants off!'".

Danny, we couldn't agree more.

Charity Association Slams Beckham

David Beckham's whisky deal backfires

Only two days ago it was announced that David Beckham had teamed up with drinks giant Diageo to launch a new Scotch whisky called "Haig Club" later this year.

Haig Club, David Beckham's Scotch whisky

Well, bosses of an alcohol awareness charity haven't reacted very nicely to the news, and they have slammed Beckham for sending a confusing message to children and urged him to pull out of the deal.

"It’s incredibly disappointing that David Beckham, a global icon who has wide appeal to children, has chosen to use his sports star image to promote spirits.

Given David Beckham's other roles promoting sport and a healthy lifestyle to children, we believe this will send a confusing message to them about the dangers of alcohol and its impact on a healthy lifestyle, and we call on the star to rethink his association with this product."

In response to the charity's concerns, Diageo issued the following statement:

"We and David Beckham take our responsibility in this area very seriously. David will lead the promotion of the responsible drinking programme. We have always been completely clear in our view that alcohol should only be consumed by adults and we do not want underage drinkers as consumers."

David Beckham To Launch New Scotch Whisky

"Too much is never enough" seems to be David Beckham's motto.

The ex footballer recently unveiled his swimwear collection for H&M, he is in talks to design his own sportswear collection, he is looking to get a Miami soccer club off the ground and now he is launching a new Scotch whisky with drinks giant Diageo.

David Beckham - Haig Club, the new Scotch wisky
According to the Daily Record, the drink, called "Haig Club", will be available globally later this year.

"Haig Club is a new innovation from the House of Haig, Scotland’s oldest grain whisky dynasty and makers of Haig Blended Scotch Whisky and Dimple Scotch Whisky.

Beckham and Fuller will play a fundamental role in developing the brand, its strategy and positioning, with Beckham also leading the promotion of a responsible drinking programme for Haig Club, which is at the heart of the brand.

Throughout his career, David Beckham has been at the forefront of emerging trends and rewritten the rules of what it means to be a modern sportsman and businessman, and we are pleased he has decided to turn his hand to Scotch."

David Beckham To Design Sportswear Collection?

According to VOGUE.co.uk, David Beckham could be following into his wife's footsteps and become a fully-fledged fashion designer.

David Beckham for VOGUE Paris

He has already designed for H&M and Adidas, and he has been the face of fashion brands such as Emporio Armani and Belstaff, but now David Beckham could be designing his very own sportswear collection.

He is reportedly in talks with Li & Fung, among other potential investors, to create a casual line of ready-to-wear.

Just a few days ago H&M unveiled his new swimwear collection.

Adam Levine Goes For A "Rocky" Hairstyle

I'll be honest: I used to have a thing for Adam Levine... ten years ago. He looked gorgeous in the "She Will Be Loved" video, didn't he?

Then he started getting all those tattoos and started thinking he was the hottest thing to ever walk this planet. That kind of attitude put some people, like me, right off.

Then he had a dig at celebrities who release fragrances. In March 2011, he tweeted:

"I also would like to put an official ban on celebrity fragrances. Punishable by death from this point forward."

One year later, his very own fragrance came out.

And he had a go at Lady Gaga shortly after her comeback last year. Well, who didn't? He tweeted:

"Ugh... recycling old art for a younger generation doesn't make you an artist. It makes you an art teacher. I unabashedly love writing and performing pop music for both myself AND everyone around me. That's it. It doesn't need any extra sauce."

Extra sauce? You mean your topless torso making an appearance in every single one of your videos?

Gaga laughed the rant off with:

"Uh oh guys the art police is here."

Now he's gone and ruined his hair.

David Beckham started this trend back in 2011 and everybody seems to have followed suit. It's a great haircut but Adam can't exactly pull it off.

David Beckham and H&M have been the gift that keeps on giving for years now.

We have grown accustomed to seeing Becks in his kecks over and over again, and I don't know about you, but I am definitely not sick of it yet.

Today the star and the high street brand have unveiled his new swimwear collection, which consists of three different styles: boardshorts, swimshorts and trunks. The collection will be available in shops in May.

Beckham said:

"The success of my bodywear collection at H&M has been fantastic, so I'm thrilled to be introducing these great swimwear pieces ready for the summer.

We've worked hard to create new classics for men, with great fit, comfort, and also style."

Porn's Starr Sisters On Their Favourite Athletes

http://www.tmz.com/2014/03/28/natasha-natalia-starr-porn-sisters-sex-with-athletes-video/
Click to watch the video
The World of porn is a strange one. Twin brothers and sisters make movies together and... hold on, this post isn't about that!

This post is about two sisters who make porn movies together and for some reason a TMZ reporter excitedly quizzed them about their favourite athletes... and which ones they would never ever bang.

The Starr sisters would apparently say "Yes" to David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

As for those they would never sleep with... it's just a bunch of random names. None of these names will sound familiar unless you're into sports and live in America. The girls mention the Superbowl, and I do know what that is. It was Beyoncé's opening act last year.

Anyway, one of the girls says she'd never touch one of these athletes, not even if they paid her, but then admits she has "fu*ked lots of ugly guys on film"!

At least they're honest!

David Beckham: Adidas Climachill Ambassador

Frosty... David Beckham
David Beckham and Adidas go way back. His first ever Adidas advert aired in 1998, and their love story has been going strong ever since. Now that doesn't mean that David isn't constantly flirting with other brands and occasionally giving into temptation, but he always goes back to his roots.

In recent years David has even started designing for them. The Adidas Originals by David Beckham collection includes trainers, jackets, shirts and other items. Check these out:

 The Climachill Range

The Adidas Climachill range will be on sale Worldwide on April the 1st and the key products are the Training T-Shirts for him and the Tennis Tops for her.

What's innovative about this range is that the fabric provides an instant "chill" effect, which helps lower the athlete's body temperature and helps the athlete's performance in warm conditions.

The range was tasted in a state-of-the-art Adidas chamber called "Clima", with temperatures as high as 50ÂșC.

David Beckham, ambassador of the Climachill range, said:

"Playing and training in extreme conditions can be very challenging both mentally and physically. In my time as a player I have played in cold conditions in the North of England and in very hot climate in the US – weather can really make a difference to an athlete’s performance. The technology used in the Climachill™ range will really help athletes concentrate on their game so they can perform at their best, even in the harshest of conditions."
